Dr. Batra is a creative and innovative physician executive with unique experience in the provider, policy, and the payer side of healthcare. She has a diverse background in academic clinical practice leadership, educational leadership to health plan leadership. She serves as the Chief Medical Officer for SCAN Health Plan, the country’s fourth largest not-for-profit Medicare Advantage plan. As an active member of SCAN’s Executive team, Dr. Batra’s responsibilities include incorporating quality and clinical goals into operations and strategies of the organization . She believes in the triple aim : “Right care at right time and right cost". She has been instrumental in developing new models of integrated healthcare delivery to improve clinical quality outcomes and ensure sustainability. She has had experience managing multiple physicians, running nursing and physician operations, and education both at the medical school and graduate level. She currently teaches MD/MBAs and Executive MBA courses on business of Medicine through the Paul Merage School of business and serves as faculty in the School of Medicine at University of California IrvineSpecialties: Primary care redesign, Leadership training for physician executives, managed care, 5 star quality initiatives, care for the duals.
