Chief Nursing Executive, Kaiser Permanante
Chris Recinos is the CEO and founder of Nurse Leader Network, a business and a podcast dedicated to helping nurses build their careers, find their LIFE-work balance, and creating a network of other leaders aimed at revolutionizing healthcare. She is also currently a Chief Nurse Executive for Kaiser Permanente South Bay Medical Center in Los Angeles where she oversees nursing practice for over 1,200 nurses. Her prior role included serving as theDirector of Advanced Practice and the Target Clinics in the SCPMG Regional Offices. There she was responsible for care delivery, ambulatory/ inpatient operations, and the scope of practice for 1,600 advanced practice providers across the Southern California Region. In addition, she oversaw and executed Kaiser Permanente’s retail clinic strategy, leading operations and expansion of the nurse led Target Retail Clinics.
Prior to her time at Kaiser Permanente, she served as Deputy Nurse Executive and Associate Chief of Nursing Services for the Veterans Health Administration of Greater Los Angeles. She has spent her professional career in a variety of administrative, clinical, and academic roles at LAC+ USC Medical Center, multiple community clinics, and CaliforniaState University Fullerton. She holds a PhD in Nursing from Azusa PacificUniversity, a master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from CaliforniaState University Los Angeles, and a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from theUniversity of Texas. When she is not working, she can be found volunteering for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or advocating for suicide prevention efforts across the country.
