Senior National Director of Recovery and Community Supports, Magellan Healthcare
Thomas Lane, NCPS, CRPS, is the Senior National Director of Recovery and Community Supports for Magellan Healthcare. In this role, he provides leadership and guidance across the enterprise for Magellan’s peer support initiatives, as well as recovery and resiliency activities. He has over 20 years of experience developing peer-provided services and supports across multiple systems of care and settings.
Tom was an early recognizer of the impact of social exclusion and social determinants of health on individuals who rely on publicly-funded healthcare and other social support services. Over the course of his career, he has applied these learnings to develop innovative solutions and operational processes aimed at increasing access to effective peer support services, improving community connectedness, and enhancing decision support opportunities so individuals can realize improved personal wellness outcomes and improved quality of life.
As a health care activist, Tom has been a leading voice for advancing recovery in the U.S. This includes forward leaning work around digitally delivered peer support and recovery services. His monthly e-newsletter, eMpowered for Wellness, offers timely and thought provoking articles for the field, and is distributed to over 9000subscribers. Tom lives well with bipolar disorder and shares his story of recovery to inspire others.
