Driving Tomorrow’s Advances in the Digital Health Ecosystem: A Conversation With a Top Healthcare VC
Christopher J. Donovan is a transaction lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. He is a member of Foley’s Health Care Practice Group (and former Co-Chair from 2018-2021), a member of the firm’s Private Equity & Venture Capital Practice, and member of the firm wide Leadership Advisory Committee for the Health Care and Life Science Sector. Chris is also a member of the American Telemedicine Association. He focuses his practice on advising investors, both strategic and financial in mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, buyouts, growth investments and restructurings, as well as advising on a broad range of commercial arrangements. Chris has particular experience in the health service, post—acute, digital health, and behavioral health areas. As a result of the dozens of health and life science deals he has advised on, both domestic and international, Chris brings a unique blend of deep regulatory as well as pragmatic corporate and finance experience to a transaction.
Laura is ambitiously dedicated to her portfolio companies, working hand in hand with the teams on anything they need. She’s spent her career developing a deep understanding of each part of the health care system, with an eye on how future innovation can integrate and transform the industry. She started her career running product development at a health care startup serving health plans, hospitals and employers before transitioning to the corporate strategy team at UnitedHealth Group. There, Laura focused on their innovation pipeline, most concentrated on emerging companies, the PBM space and international markets. She then rounded out her industry knowledge with roles at CVS Health and Leerink Transformation Partners. Her goal is to use her expertise and relationships in the industry to help companies effectively understand, penetrate and ultimately reshape the industry. Laura is a graduate of Williams College and holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
