Executive Director, Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS)
In 1986, Rick Doblin, Ph.D., founded the non-profit Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), which he has grown from a one-man project to an international psychedelic pharmaceutical company with over 50 full-time staff. In 1990, Rick obtained a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. In 2001, Rick received a Ph.D. from the Kennedy School with a dissertation on the regulation of psychedelic research and prescription use. Rick’s professional goal is to become a legally licensed psychedelic psychotherapist by developing legal contexts for the safe uses of psychedelics and marijuana as prescription medicines and also for personal growth, spirituality, and creativity.
