I help systems and leaders move from embracing health equity in theory, to health equity in action by noticing and intervening on how racism and other oppressive forces operate within themselves and their systems. I shift mindsets, sway opinions, and enlighten the leaders who are shaping policies and making decisions that impact everyone’s health. Through immersive workshops, executive and individual coaching, and keynote speaking I underscore the urgency of equity while making equity relatable and tangible. I ground and simplify what equity really means, and provide concrete steps on how to act on institutional and individual commitments to equity. With a deeper understanding of the urgency of equity and how it applies to their work, those who work with me better recognize how to operationalize equity principles in their unique position or organization. They are equipped with a lens through which to make inclusive and equitable decisions for generational health impacts that change and save lives.

Gaurang is the Founder & CEO of Violet - a platform dedicated to helping the healthcare industry connect underserved communities to culturally competent care, by building a new standard for identifying cultural competencies within providers. Violet's proprietary system for benchmarking cultural competence uses a variety of disparate data about each partner provider (e.g. training history, professional experiences, identities, etc.) to identify and showcase culturally competent providers. Prior to building Violet, Gaurang spent ~4 years building insurance and technical products at Oscar health, a health insurance startup build from the ground up. He is also queer and an immigrant, with a passion for making healthcare more inclusive for the medicaid population.
