Who or what is your inspiration?

- I am inspired by my mother who has 8 children and has taught me faith, hard work, and optimism. My mother also stopped me from my last suicide attempt in 2018 and I'm eternally grateful for that. - I am deeply moved by the urgency in action and hope demonstrated by young people, parents, and communities who have navigated mental health challenges, the loss of loved ones to suicide, and systematic oppression. - I am inspired by God and grounded in my faith, that my mission on earth is accomplished daily by leading a life of purpose, righteousness, and bravery.

One thing you would like to see changed in mental or behavioral health care?

I believe we need to invest more in understanding and uplifting culturally grounded healing and healers who carry ideas, methods, and approaches that can deeply resonate with underserved communities. Because of our existing healthcare shortage, we have to be innovative and equitable in the way we approach innovation -- and building new approaches that center on holistic healing is critical.

What is your superpower?
