Speaker's Profile

Dr. Anitha Iyer is Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and Director of Behavioral Health Population Management at Mount Sinai Health System. She oversees behavioral health access across the health system and aims to promote better clinical outcomes for patients, and streamline evaluation and treatment processes.Prior to joining Mount Sinai, Dr. Iyer was the Chief Clinical Officer, and Vice President of Crisis and Behavioral Health Technologies for Vibrant Emotional Health, a New York City based not-for-profit organization, and served as an advisor to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline/988. She is a recognized leader in the innovative delivery of crisis services, frequent speaker at behavioral health and suicide prevention conferences across the nation, and has served as a subject matter expert for media engagement on matters pertaining to mental health and suicide prevention. In addition to her current role at Mount Sinai, Dr. Iyer serves as member of the American Psychological Association's Board for the Advancement of Psychology in the Public Interest, and APA Division 18's Executive Board. She is multilingual and fluent in English, Tamil, and Hindi/Urdu.  Dr. Iyer, a licensed Clinical Psychologist, earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University-Teachers College, and her BA in Biology from Barnard College. She also has a Masters in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
