Dr. Zachary McGeorge, DSW, LCSW is a practicing Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Doctorate of Social worker as well as the Director of Behavioral Health at AdventHealth in Manchester, Kentucky. Dr. McGeorge has never had a position outside of Behavioral Health, starting his career at the age of 18 as a Service Provider at a local Community Mental Health Agency providing therapuetic support and resources to children in a summer program. Dr. McGeorge received his Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from Alice Lloyd College in Pippa Passes, Kentucky as well as his Masters and Doctorate Degrees in Social Work from the University of Kentucky--specializing in Administrative Leadership. Dr. McGeorge's Capstone piece was titled: Reducing Logistical Burdens of Rural Medicaid Recipients: A CMS Policy ReviewClinically, Dr. McGeorge treats adjustment and anxiety disorders, substance use, couples, and athletes suffering from performance anxiety. Dr. McGeorge is also a Lecturer at the University of Kentucky College of Social Work Doctoral Program as an adjunct professor. Dr. McGeorge is from rural, Southeastern Kentucky with a heart and passion for blending exercise and mental health--two things that he lives out in his daily life. Dr. McGeorge is a former CrossFit competitor, but now does local competitions and works out every morning as a part of his self care routine. He has a dog (irish setter) named Willet and is married to the love of his life, who is a pediatric resident, by the name of Sarah McGeorge. He is a brother, a son, and holds a strong committment to make the area of Eastern Kentucky and Appalachia and better place for those around him. In Dr. McGeorges spare time when he is not working or exercising--he enjoys spending time with his family, landscaping, spending time outside hiking, or watching 90's movies.
